I met Ellie Nelson last May at Seabrook during our all-church retreat. She was someone who was approachable and insightful. It was obvious to me that she had a heart for people and for communities she found herself in.

At the time she was an intern at SERVE Seattle and relatively new to the area but willing to jump right in anywhere. Ellie grew up moving often and being able to personally relate to that, we became friends instantly.

In the last year and a half, she has become a huge part of our ASC community. Her consistency and commitment have allowed us to continue loving well the people who come into our church, because we’ve known that we could rely on her in that process. Ellie has selflessly devoted herself to our community, showing up early and often leaving late as she helped with our hospitality team and loved on people who came into church each week.

This past Sunday was her last Sunday with us as she leaves this week for Minnesota to go to school and live closer to family as she figures out the next steps in her life. While we will miss her greatly, we are so excited to see how she no doubt will end up making the world a better place.

Thank you, Ellie, for your investment in our community, for your friendship, and for always showing up.
