Hoist Your Sail: Week 11

Hoist your Sail # 11

1 Corinthians 3:16 “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you”.(ESV)
I’m reading through the Bible in a year and currently in Numbers.  I have always loved the Old Testament.  It has hidden treasures.  I remember as a kid reading through Leviticus and realizing how particular God was about His temple.  He spoke to me and told me I was His temple.  I remember going through years of asking Him to clean out all parts of “His Temple”(my life).  I asked His Spirit to search me and know me and look for hidden places to reveal.  I wanted His temple inside of me to be as beautiful for Him as gold, silver and all the beauty that was in the Old Testament temple building.  I spent much of college asking Him to let me be transparent.  I did not want to hide from Him or anyone else.
As I read through Leviticus recently, I was reminded to stop and pray for His spirit to search me and know me and reveal any hidden parts.

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life”.(NLT)

If you know Jesus as your Savior for sin, stop now and pray that verse over you and over your kids.

Last week your kids heard about Paul third journey from Acts 18.
Main Point: God helped Paul preach with courage even when he was in danger.
